Digital image processing is one of the main fields of biomedical research. The main part of biomedical image processing is, for the characteristics of biomedical images, developing new image processing algorithms. This project aims at developing a WCF-based image processing system on a network platform. Using this system, the developing of new image processing functions will be standardized and convenient.Using WCF, which is the latest technology of the Microsoft, this project establishes an online distributed image processing system. Thanks to Windows Internet information service, we set up the image processing server on the workstation. The clients on any ordinary computers can access the server through the Internet, and enjoy the services provided by the server. The processing of image mainly consumes the server's hardware resources, such as CPU and memory, which greatly improves the utilization of the workstation. At we set up the image database on the server part, which will be unified to manage the image data.This project uses Intel IPP library to achieve the basic functions of image processing. And this image processing platform also provides a convenient way to add new modules: multi-language supported, multi-platforms supported and dynamic to add new features. The platform also supports three-dimensional reconstruction, and provides users with comprehensive image processing services.This image processing system provides a unified and systematic network platform for biomedical image processing, and lays the foundation for further researches.
