In recent years, dual-frequency microstrip antenna and array have taken moreand more attention. Various dual-band antennas have been used in wirelesscommunications, because of flexible Frequency Ratio (FR) range and small antennadimensions. As its advantage in volume, dual-band microstrip arrays also have beenwidely used in SAR system and wireless applications.According to the principle of the microstrip antenna, this thesis studied thestructure and designing methods of dual-frequency microstrip antenna, especially thedual-frequency co-aperture antenna array. Based on the configuration of the dual-bandcomplex antenna arrays, C band patch antenna array and X band slot antenna arraywere designed respectively. Special feeding configuration was chosen to make surethe two arrays keeping its own performances under dual-frequency.condition.In the design, the software HFSS of Ansoft Company was used to simulate andoptimize the antenna models. According to the simulating result, a antenna samplewas fabricated and measured. The results show that this kind of antenna array obtains15% and 10% bandwidth in C band and X band, respectively. This new configurationhas a good performance in dual-frequency, and it is potential to used in large antennaarrays. A good application value was shown in this design. |
