"lun Heng" Proof-reading In Mind

"Lunheng", a philosophical works, was written by Wang chong, an early Eastern Han Dynasty, using all his life. Being a crystallization against the Feudality and Theology, it was hailed as a great ancient Chinese Masterpieces. It was not only of epoch-making significance in the history of Chinese philosophy, but of an important reference value for the study of Chinese classical literature, linguistics, folklore studies, and classical philology, etc. Since the 1920s, some scholars began to pay attention to this book, the impressive results on "Lunheng" had been witnessed: monographs in the annotation and collation on Wang's "Lunheng" have appeared, among that, some complete annotation had reached a fairly high level. However, insufficiency on the collation still existed, especially on the versions. Therefore, basing the predecessors' results, the paper makes an effort to make up for the inadequacy as far as possible on the version, do a good job in the collation work conscientiously. Identifying the origins of the academics, differentiating and analyzing the versions, taking the methods of the collation, this article tries to break through the researching status in the collation work, and restores its original appearance.
