Process Characterization Methods Of Programming Operations Research

Last century, by the management of the operation task process and motion-time analysis, Scientific Management Theory made the work efficiency of manual worker advanced more than 50 times. Now in knowledge economic society, numbers of researchers from various fields begin to pay attention to the knowledge task, as well as to do research on the way how to improve the work efficiency of knowledge worker.Programming task is a typical kind of knowledge task. The improvement of work efficiency of programming task by describing and presentating programming process is not only a software science problem, but also a basic problem of management science and knowledge management. However, lots of researches pay their attention on software products that are results of programming process without considering the programming task process. In fact, most of them lost sight of process and saw it as a "black box" instead, which weakened the efforts of software process management and controlling in practice. Nevertheless, before controlling or measuring something we must describe and presente it first. This article aims at studying the method of presenting programming task process.Firstly, this paper reviews programming process studies in fields of cognitive science and software science after introducing the background and significance of this research. Then we put forward the main research contents of the thesis, which contains the definition, method, examples and practice research of programming process.Secondly, we regard knowledge task process as "a series of mind operation" in terms of the views of scientific management and cognitive management. Then we dicuss the method of presenting this kind of complicated knowledge task process by academic analyzing on the layer of "basic actions"and"therbligs".The third, we focus on two typical programming problems - Tower of Hanio and farmer's dilemma by time-motion analyzing, and bring forward an analysis paradiam. Meanwhile, we divide the programming task process into two cognitive stages, that is, programmer's cognitive process and computer's "cognitive" process.The fourth, we establish a skill degree of mind operation neural network evaluation model which is used to study the usabilities of mind operation of programmers in practice. By validating, we find out this model can disdinguish programmer expert and jackeroo at the rate of ninty percent.Finally, the summaries are concluded and further expectations are made as well.Presenting programming task in the way of mind operation is a kind of process describing method, which offered a new method for descrbing and comprehending programming task process with availability in the field of process management and provided an academic base of method optimizing and measure of programming process in this paper.
