As the development of intelligent control and the daily enhanced requests of systemperformance in industry, the application of intelligent PID controller has become popularin recent years. However, as a result of the complexity of intelligent PID controller'sstructure, the fundamental research on intelligent PID controller appears more difficult incontrast to its applications, and the weakness of the fundamental research limits the furtherdevelopment of intelligent PID controller inevitably. The servo system is the most commonand the most important system in industry, therefore, the fundamental research on thedesign of intelligent PID controller for servo system is extremely essential and significant.This paper is concerned with the fundamental research on the design of intelligentPID controller for A. C. servo system, and main contributions are summarized as follows:①Research on the control model. Firstly, the model of the A.C. servo system is built,which is simplified in project methods, then the general and low-order transfer function ofthe servo system is obtained. Secondly, the intelligent PID controller's structure and therule of the parameters are designed; meanwhile the concrete structure and the rule of theparameters' change of the PID controller which will be applied in this paper are obtained inform. Finally, closed loop A. C. servo system which uses the intelligent PID controller isaddressed, the intelligent controller's parameters are separated in the state equations of thissystem following the transformation from the output feedback system to the state feedbacksystem. The following researches in this article are facilitated through analysis,②The intelligent controller's initial parameters are set in the law of region poleassignment and the law of satisfaction control theory; some Conclusions are drawnaccording to the model used in this paper in terms of the Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI)approach. Some numerical examples are given to demonstrate the feasibility of theseconclusions.③The stability of the system which uses the intelligent controller has been proved inthe theory of switched system.④The design process of intelligent PID controller for servo system is summarized atlast. Then, an example of the design of intelligent PID controller for servo system isprovided; the accuracy and the superiority of the design process are confirmed through itssimulation.
