As the developing of computer science and communications area, the advanced mobile communication technologies are widely implemented. This thesis included the research work done by the author during the MS. study. There are two parts included, the first part is the research of label routing in Ad Hoc wireless network based on MPLS, the second part is the software design and implementation of GSM module in A-GPS locating terminal based on GSM/GPRS network. In the first part, by integrating the MPLS technology, we proposed an improved Ad Hoc routing protocol, which drove the co-development of MPLS and Ad Hoc. In this part, I was responsible for the implementation of the routing label in the network model. Basing on the current MANET model in OPNET, we combined the AODV routing protocol and MPLS technology. In the AODV process of MANET model, the nodes were designed to maintain a same routing table. For each destination node, there was only one piece of valid routing information in the table. We transformed the routing table in IP layer to a label information table. By using the label information table in the MAC layer, we encapsulated and unencapsulated labels according to the type of the packets received by the nodes. When a node needed to transfer a received data packet, by un-encapsulating the current MPLS label and searching a new one in the label information table, the node encapsulated the new label to the data packet and transfered it. This technology was used to implementing fast transmission in MAC layer. In the second part, we developed the locating system and A-GPS terminal used in vehicles navigation and tracking, basing on the GSM/GPRS network of CMCC and the GPS network. The locating system consists of the terminal and the server. The terminal received the position information and sent to the server through the GPRS connection, the server used the information to track the position and sent back to the user. I was responsible for software design and coding of GSM module in the terminal side. The GSM module served for the communication between the terminal and the server, which included transmitting and receiving the short message, building and removing the GPRS link, transmitting and receiving the GPRS data, getting the Cell ID of the current main cell by using AT commands, reading the power of the battery and controlling the state of GSM Modem.
