Web-based Laboratory Information Management System

With the development of information technology as well as the maturity of building university campus network, it has been a necessary tendency for laboratory management of universities to carry out a scientific and network management with the help of advanced management information system and software development platform. Considering the questions of the Accounting Integrative Laboratory in Yunnan University of Finance & Economics, this research developed a web-based laboratory management information system.According to the analysis of the Accounting Integrative Laboratory in Yunnan University of Finance & Economics management of such laboratory and the characteristics of the laboratory, a web-based laboratory management information system is designed and applied. This design uses web-based object- Oriented technology and modularizing design method, and the design concept of Browser/Server-based three-tier construction as well as software engineering method are also applied. Because of the use of the above technology methods, the system owns the following characteristics: It accords with the management characteristics of Accounting Integrative Laboratory and it can satisfy such laboratory's management requirements; This system is easy to be used and no maintenance is needed for the client; This system is based on .NET framework and three-tier construction as well and modularizing design is used so it can be greatly open and extend; It uses SQL SERVER database system, which enables it to be used widely and offers it a strong ability to be shared online and rapidness of communication.The web-based laboratory management information system is composed of the following six function modules: system maintenance, laboratory management, management of laboratory staff, laboratory equipment management, inquiry statistics and message note. The application of this system can realize efficiency, conveniency and accuracy of laboratory management, and it can help to improve work quality and efficiency. Therefore it will have some good effect on experimental teaching and help to promote the interaction between teaching and management.
