In 21 century, Museums as the main camps of lifelong education should be paid more attention for communicating function. By taking selective attention theory in cognition psychology as theory carrier, this text mainly discuss the form and method of design in museum display how to contronl audience' attention distribution from audience's perspective. The text insists that we can contronl audiences' attention using proper displaying methods. Firstly, displaying interspace should avoid "visual noise", which has not too much ornaments, reduce the disturbing factors of audience attention detract, make audience concentrate on the display itself. Secondly, We can contronl audience' attention distribution by material, dimension, illumination and dynamic. Taken together, we should abide the five principles to contronl audience' attention distribution: moderate, binding , "spotlight", creative and tensile.This dissertition contains three parts,introduction, main text, and conclusion. The main text is made up of four chapters. In chapter 1, this text maily discusses the validity of museum information dissemination and the polytropism of audience attention distribution, which convey meanings of this research. In chapter 2, this text introduces the core theory of selective attention theory and its development process. In chapter 3, the text mainly dicuss the relationship between formal design of museum display and audience attention distribution in two aspects:display interspace and item on display. In chapter 4, the text summarizes conclusions with five principles.
