Humans have very powerful and sophisticated abilities to perceive external information,the visual system plays an important role in the process of the outside information.With the development of information technology, the number of digital images are growing, it is hoped the computer can quickly and efficiently process these images as human beings. However,there is a huge difference between computer vision and human vision,the traditional computer vision research has encountered a bottleneck, so we hope to further study the human visual system to be applied to the visual model and the selective attention mechanism is the focus and hotspot of vision research.The so-called selective attention is that the ability of human eyes to receive information from outside at the same time is limited, but the visual information can be rapidly analyzed and processed and the redundant information can be removed by visual system, then human eyes can extract the area of interest.Based on previous studies, we do further research on human attention mechanism in salient regions extraction and color constancy process:(1) There are many models to extrat salient regions, we put these models into two general categories: local-based methods and global-based methods. To have a better understand of visual system,we try to verify it on visual model.We combine local model and global model to simulate attention mechanism,then we compared the results to human eye fixation data and other models.The results show that the combined map can detect salient regions more accurately,human beings may use these two information when see the scene freely.(2) We use psychophysical experiments to study the selective attention mechanism in realization of color constancy.After the experiments we process the results and we want to kown which regions the human eyes fouse on,we can process these in brightness and color characteristics. The results show that human beings give preference to highlight areas,grey and white areas.
