In this dissertation, due to the requirements of network transmission in locating and commanding system and Zigbee wireless sensor network system, a network transmission system based on ARM7 embedded processor andμC/OS-II embedded operating system is proposed, and its design in both hardware and software is described. This system is developed based on merits of the embedded processor: high performance, low power consumption and low cost, and it adopts S3C44B0X as the core processor. Then, the hardware design of the system is completed and it extends many universal interfaces, especially the network interface by ethernet and dial-up. Lastly,μC/OS-II and LwIP are ported to this system. Consequently, this system can satisfy the requirements of network transmission in locating and commanding system and Zigbee wireless sensor network system ,and also provide an economical and multifunctional universal embedded platform for network application. In this dissertation, we focus on these following work:1.A comprehensive description about the signification of the research work is given. The current research status of embedded technology, embedded processor, embedded operating system and embedded TCP/IP protocol stack is also described.2.The functional requirement of this system is discussed in detail and a total solution of the system is proposed.3.The hardware design of the system is discussed in detail.4.The software design of the system is completed, including portingμC/OS-II and LwIP to S3C44B0X, and programming the device driving procedures and network application procedures based on TCP/UDP.5.The main research conclusion is summarized after debugging the system and analyzing the results. The prospect of further research work is also proposed.
