Based On The Ixp425 Network Processor, Pci Communication Card Design

With the growing of high speed local area network, the application and service of streaming media become more and more popular, change the life style of people in silently. In the application of streaming media, how to enhance the quality of service largely, reduce the waiting time of data transfer, and optimize the feeling of consumer, become the important point and difficult point in the research of streaming media area at now.At recently, with the development of micro-electronic, the research and development of embed microprocessor become so important, which attracts the more and more researchers and developers. The development of embed technology provides a new way to deal with the problems in the filed of streaming media. Therefore, this topic took the application of Intel IXP425 network processor which based ARM9 core as the research objective.This paper analyzed the foreground and key functions of Intel IXP425 network processor, and discussed the correlative technology of embed transfer card with PCI bus interface. On the one hand, We discussed that how to optimize the hardware design in embed system development enviroment and how to utilize the given hardware resources extremely. In this paper, we explain the design of hardware module in details. On the other hand, this paper analyzed and introduced the crossing compiler and loading of BootLoader. So, this paper explained the relative knowledge of hardware design accroding to its characteristics and finally realized it.In this project, I participated in fundamental research and analysis of this topic, completed and debugged the hardware of embed transfer card with PCI bus interface, and developed the correspondent software of BootLoader, finished the massive work in view of the hardware performance enhancement and optimization at later stage of this project. In the end of this paper, I described the solution to difficulties I meet in the procedure of debugging.
