With the development of peer-to-peer computation model and the increase of network bandwidth and capacity of computer, the ignored client that in the traditional C/S model becomes a valuable computing resource."Harness the edge of Internet"has become to a new aim of research and application.At the same time, with the popularization of Internet and network application, more and more information forms a huge information space. These data while bring the huge advantage to the enterprise, also set a higher request to the security. While the information security becomes more and more important, the importance of data backup which is the main content of information security is often ignored.According to the traditional backup methods, data can store to the backup system on time, when the operation mistake happens, the operation data restored from the backup data in order to continue the service. In this way, it has the low operating efficiency and the long resume waiting time, at the same time because the system relay on the server and the single backup system overmuch, it easily to form the system center point, once the center point be destroied, all the data will be destroied.This thesis is precisely in view of the above question, proposed a method to constructs the data backup system using the P2P technology, and has made the innovative and the exploring research to the correlative domain. In the P2P computation model, all peers are coordinated. Peers not only are the client but also are the server. They share their resources through the cooperative and reciprocal principle. There are some advantages in the P2P computation model:1) Can provide the opportunity to use massive idle resources;2) Can eliminate the bottleneck question which the sole resources create;3) Can eliminate the one point failure;4) Can use the distribution service between the clients to replace some expensive data center in order to save the hardware expenses.Therefore, use P2P technology to build data backup system can make up the shortage of traditional backup methods, so it is worthy studying. In content, this thesis first introduce the relative background, the research purpose and innovative point, afterwards, it generalizes the P2P as well as the data backup technology, then, it completely describes the network construction and system design, finally, it described the main design, technology and arithmetic of the main function module -- i_BitTorrent(Improved BitTorrent)data management model.
