Wireless layered self-organizing network fits for the situations where the amount of nodes is great and layered structure is in need. But the real test of such kind of network costs a lot and the test scene is hard to recur accurately, especially for the huge number of nodes. So simulation is commonly used in the research of wireless layered self-organizing network. But the simulation platform at present, like NS2 and Opnet, are just tools for the performance and capability test of some network, or for the debugging of routing protocols and so on. They are not to do the job of real-time simulation and demonstration of networks.Our work group focuses on a simulation and demonstration system. It is founded on the environment of Ethernet, where the common PC can simulate the link situation, network forming method, routing protocol and user data of the wireless layered self-organizing network. The aim of designing is to create three parts: Communication Server, Supervising Server and User Terminal, which do the simulation and demonstration job above. Afterwards, it must provide a guiding material and support of the real test. At the same time, it must contain the function of plain demonstration of the network, including the net forming course, routing and data transmission. Further more, it will be the basic work of an advanced version which is more consummate and universal.The Communication Server is the core part of the system. The main function is to simulate the self organizing process, routing, channel environment, and the detail fuction of nodes. In the process of designing, most factors that can affect the network are considered, including the physical link situation, settled TDMA channel, multi-hop network environment, information node model, intranet and internet routing protocol, link layer protocol, etc.This eaaay introduces the structure of simulation system and function structure of it. It puts most attention on the fuction module designing, protocol stack designing, way of net forming, link layer protocol and routing protocol designing. Afterwords, the realization of intranet route protocol and the user data communication process is carefully carried out. At last, I did the test job of intranet route protocol working condition, user data communication process and large scale network working. And I gave out the test report, proving that the route protocol was working properly and the user data can be trasmited normally. As the amount of nodes grows, the system can show its property.
