Wireless Mobile Ad Hoc Network (WMANET) ,which is a combination of wireless transmitter-receivers,hardware and software, based on the wireless packets network. Because of its abundant uses in military wireless communication and other conditions in emergency, the significance of MANET applications becomes more and more important. As the main technology in MANET, what we need is more than Voice communication, now data communication becomes the main service in wireless communication. Architecture is more and more complicated and difficult along with the increase of nodes and multiple services. As a result, we need to complete the evaluation of protocol or arithmetic before we actually use the network because of the importance and meaningful about its capabilities.First, this thesis introduces the main parts and principles of WMANET briefly. Next we present the network structure, also brings forward a structure about how to build a model for performance evaluation. Studies have brief introduction about performance evaluation and characteristic. The evaluation of this network is about different environment using MANET and the services of MANET. Based on this thought, we have four pieces: evaluation about carrying capacity of operation transmission; evaluation about anti-destroy environment; evaluation about anti-jamming environment,evaluation about moving with random speed. The last part of the article focuses on the descriptions of the whole structure of the simulation models and their functions respectively.The simulation tool adopted in this paper is OPNET . we build the WMANT capability evaluation modle by this simulation tool. The importance is we prove the valid of this model for capability evaluation by using three routing protocols, through the compare, we can get the best protocol for use.
