Infrared thermal NDT(nondestructive testing) is an emerging technology, which is rapid, high-efficiency, intuitive and valuable in application.. A major advantage of the internal defects which is different from traditional infrared technology is that it could detect the depth of internal testing specimens and the surface structure identification. Take advantage of this unique advantages, We can get the relation of the surface thermal images which are get at different time points and the reaction time of Surface temperature according to the internal structure of objects in depth characteristics.Then we can get cross-section image corresponds to a certain depth. 3D visualization techniques can be used three-dimensional map.The research contents of the paper include:1.Inpu,display and save of heat wave infrared image sequences.2.Segment of heat wave infrared image. 3D display has a direct effect on image segmentation results. Because of the characteristics of infrared thermal image which is generated in heat conduction processing, the algorithm of threshold segmentation is very unsatisfactory, and the goal can not be close to the actual image. So the paper advances a new algorithm of the region growing segmentation based on the minimization. It has successfully extracted the target image of the erroneous elements and achieved a better result.3.Implementation of 3D visualization technology. Detecting can not be implemented well because it can only get thermal sequence images for the thermal wave NDT technology. So we need produce three-dimensional images of depth using 3D display technology. The paper has finished 3D visualization of heat wave infrared image sequences using 3D Visualization library -VTK, and can show a section of arbitrary information in the direction of x-y-z.4.The implementation of 3D interactive technology and 3D cutting technology.5.Design and implementation of 3D Visualization System of infrared heat wave.
