With the development of the network communication technology and DW (Data Warehouse) technology, the DSS (Decision Support System) application has been widely used and promoted in the fields of insurance, bank and other economic areas, especially in the developed countries, while our country still lack behind a lot. So, the research of the DSS application in our country's large scale enterprises has great significance.ETL (Extraction-Transformation-Loading) is the kernel of the DSS; it's aimed at the branch companies' daily information from the operational system been transformed, extracted, transmitted and stored into the DB (Data-Base) Server of the head office. This article will build a information data manage subsystem which is under unified management. Based on a star topological structure, the operators in the management center can visually manage and control the remote nodes very conveniently, after information collection and processing of the branch offices' data to build a comprehensive DW.Decision analog is also the kernel of the DSS, the decision analog-OLAP (On-Line Analysis Processing) technology has the inductive function, it takes the data of DW as the analyzing object, with complicated operation; provide strong support to the decision-making of the analyzer.During the research and development of this system, the author achieves as follows:(1) Discussed about the differences between DB and DW, studied the origin, the techniques and the design methods of the DW, and analyzed the features of DSS which based on DW, the needs of DSS for insurance, discussed the main decision-making and reasoning approach in nowadays.(2) Designed and divided the data manage subsystem, and implemented by component technical. Implemented task define, task scheduler, script transact, communication interface, file load, file dispose, data load and so on.(3) Discussed the needs of insurance analysis and how to use Cognos kit to process OLAP and the development of front-end., and studied the DM (Data Mining) techniques.
