The Network Based Electronic Nose Technology Research And Realization

Rapid development of technologies of sensor, network connmunication and embedded computer science provides novel technical methods for network function realization of electronic nose. Electronic nose makes progress on the trend of networked, intelligent, portable, low price and consumption. Networked electronic nose will be applied to remote medical diagnosis, supervision and control of product line, real-time measurement of environment quality, and especially to some abominable and dangerous environment of mine, fire scene and so on.Based on backgrounds of electronic nose principle and network sensor technology, our researching group's methods of sensor temperature dynamic modulation, dynamic signal acquisition and classification and identification algorithms, two realization ways of networked electronic nose are presented in the thesis. One is constructed on laptop and data acquisition card of PCMCIA standard. Digital amplifying modulation of sensors renponse, exchange of data and command between software and MATLAB are discussed detailly in the paper. Networked electronic nose system of C/S mode is programmed by TCP API and DataSocket technique included in LabWindows/CVI. In the other portable networked system with advantages of low price, miniaturization and low-energy consumption is based on DSP and MCU, whose hardware structure and software design are mainly presented. DSP transmitting original data informaition of sensors array or identification information to MCU judged by acquisition signal and port information sent from MCU through two-port RAM to realize communication between the master-slave system. RTOS Nucleus PLUS and its accessorial module Nucleus NET ported to MCU are applied to initialize devices of MCU system and drive Ethernet controller to transimit information obtained from slave system to network for Ethernet communication of electronic nose based on TCP protocol.
