With the quantity of using PDA, 3Gphone, intelligent cars, intelligence appliances proliferate, every equipment needs a unique IP address .Now the Ipv4 Internet can't supply so many addresses. The only method is updating to ipv6 by using the ND (Neighbor Discovery) precept.But the new protocol is not compatible with ipv4;the coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6 network will perdure. Then one of key points is how to upgrade to IPv6 network. This article compares these disadvantages by introducing all methods of upgrading network protocol. Nowadays few institutions have connected the IPv6 network. Many IPv6-hardwares are not manufactured; especially common hard wares cannot work accurately on IPv6 protocol. That is to say we have to update the stabile using hard wares. As the using number of mobile equipment is less than pc now, discarding the old maturity is unadvisable. But the process of building IPv6 network will be very complex and expensive. In this article there exists a method to build IPv6 network by starting the tunnel, and the communication of IPv4 and IPv6 nodes is implement.First,in this paper we introduce the current development and main characteristics of IPv6, then it does the summary to the basic knowledge of Dual Stack Technology;Afterwards; it introduces the important transition technique, so as 6in4, 6to4, 4in6 Tunnel Technology; we design and implement an IPv6 basic experiment net. Through the package captured from the experiment net,we analyze the structure of interoperate message,which can deepen the understanding of Ipv6. Later, we design the Ipv6 interoperate experiment net,choose Linux Operating System to be main OS to do net experiment,propose a technical scheme of test net based on 6in4, 6to4, 4in6 mechanism.
