Computer science changing with each passing day has motivated the development of urban management information system greatly and brought infinitude of energy. With the rapid development of micro-electronic and photoelectron technologies, we are on the verge of a new computing paradigm. Mobile computing system based on personal digital assistant( PDA ) products has been used widely. It is not Arabian nights for mobile users to operate computers when moving, connect to the network anytime and anywhere in different ways and combine themselves and immense digital space seamlessly.The purpose of the subject is to develop an urban management information application system based on mobile terminal PDA. The system integrates the mobile computing technology and mobile map technology and has satisfied the urban management information system. Besides it is more important that on the one hand the system enables users to enjoy Location-based Service anytime and anywhere, on the other hand users can design and development at will so as to meet the requirements in different industry fields.The research of the subject involves computer science, such as mobile computing, mobile location, embedded software developing, and wireless networks technology.First, the subject analyses the status of urban management, comprehensive analysis of the mobile technology such as wireless location technology theories and methods, provides the technical foundation for urban management system. Second, it sets up the whole logical frame structure, implements the basic function and provides application solutions for urban management system based on mobile terminal PDA, focusing on the mobile platform embedded GPS data models, logical structure and physical. Finally the subject summarizes the factor that should be considered in the period of embedded development and gives a practical instance—"Zero Global" urban management system.
