The Controller Area Network (CAN) is a serial communications protocol, which efficiently supports distributed real time control with a very high level of secuirty. It has become an international standard about fieldbus and it has been used widely.On the basis of studying and comprehending of CAN's design models and applications in many aspects of industry, the basic specification, communication protocol,design process of CAN bus is dissertated. With a view to the futrue application of CAN in a real time measure and control system on a missile, the CAN bus network system has been implemented. Computer communicates with nodes according to the system's application layer protocol, which has been defined based on studying international opened higher layer protocol and some self-defined protocol. System's debugging and function test have been made. At last, the CANbus network system's real time performance has been analyzed.The expected target is achieved successfully. At the same time, it gives a good foundation for the application of the fieldbus in the future measurement and control network.
