The performance of the control system on Construction Machinery is an important factor which affects the working performance of the equipment. The design of control system with high performance and level in construction machinery has significant practical meaning to the capability of equipments. As a kind of unique designer and various flexibility serial communication bus, the CAN-bus can satisfy the responsibility and real-time of data communication about electronic controllers in Construction Machinery. Therefore, equitable utilization of the CAN-bus technology will improve the performance of control system on construction machinery and promote the development of construction machinery. The paper introduced and analyzed the development of the CAN-bus technology and Construction Machinery domestic areas and abroad. At the same time, the paper studied the CAN-bus designing plan of the control system on the example of paver. Because some electronic control equipments on paver which advanced the control performance and intelligent degree, the design of data communication which based on CAN-bus may realize that the numeric, gathering and intelligent control system of paver. Then in order to completely utilize the CAN-bus technology, the paver was divided into some function modules according to its functions. The Application Layer Protocol which correlates to the user isn't defined by standard of CAN2.0. The needs of practice application also solve the data transmitting of function modules, so compiling the Application Layer Protocol which can be applied to paver. The testing board which based on TMS320LF2407 was selected to carry out experiments of communication between two modules on the platform of CCS. Through the observation view of the CCS exploiting pallet inspects the process of data sending and receiving. The experiment demonstrates the feasibility of the compiling protocol and the correction and reliability of data delivering on the process of communication.
