Radar is a electronic equipment that is used to detect and locate the distanced targets with radio wave, no matter in military use and none military use, it's of great importance .Modern radar is not only required to detect the position or speed of the objects, but also need to give the image of the objects and do analyzing of the image. so a wideband radar signal is needed to acquire a high distance detection capability in order to get out of the detail characters of the objects .The method of digital waveform synthesis of the pulse compression signals is now widely used in radar systems. But the baseband pulse compression signals generated by a single DDS chip are not meet the bandwidth requirement of modern radar image. So the research on wideband radar signal source based on multiple DDS chips is of much importance recently. My major work in this dissertation is to do a lots of researches on this signal generating method .The primary work in this dissertation:1 The principle and error of wideband radar signal generating using multiple DDS chips is analyzed in detail and emulated .2 A implementation of wideband radar signal generating project using multiple DDS chips is introduced and analyzed .3 4 channel LFM signal source based on AD9958 chip is designed and implemented. The test results indicate that the source can give out 4 synchronized LFM signal , and the parameters of each channel can be controlled freely, this design can be used generally or can be used as baseband signal sources of wideband radar signal generating project using multiple DDS chips, the design meet system requests.
