Micro-vacuum electron devices have been experiencing tremendous growth in recent years and become one of the most attractive research areas of vacuum electronics. As an example, impressive achievements in growing research of novel interaction circuits used inμVED were gained.μVED combines the mechanism of vacuum electron devices and the advantages of micro-fabrication technology, therefore it can not only operate at high frequency and high power in a wider temperature range, as well as in high radiation environment , but also offer precise, low-cost, high-repeatability miniature circuit to meet the tight tolerances for high frequency devices. Folded waveguide slow wave structure has many advantages, such as metallic structure, easy fabrication, high-power handling capability, and moderate bandwidth in high frequency. The rectangular waveguide-gratings Slow-wave structure have a wide use in the microwave technology .especially as a classical Slow-wave structure ,it has been adopted in many microwave-electron system, such as traveling wave tube etc. but the most attractant advantage of the rectangle slow-wave structure is that it can been measured at small dimension and short wavelength. Combining with the MEMS, it can achieve dependable,precise,repetitive technique for the slow-wave structure which we have discussed upwards. At present using the micro-fabrication technology, new Micro-vacuum electron devices fabrication has became a active direction in the millimeter-wave and Terahertz technology .Folded waveguide traveling wave tube can been regarded as a compact coherent source for the millimeter wave and sub-millimeter wave, the sheet beam waveguide traveling wave tube which use the rectangular waveguide-grating slow-wave structure is are hot study field. According to the emerging applications in military electronic equipment, radar system, communication, investigation of W-band Micro-vacuum electron devices plays an important role in the development of novel device in this band.The article investigate W-band folded waveguide and rectangular slow-wave structure, according the study of the two slow-wave, it can provide some theory foundation and referenced worth for TWT fabrication. Firstly, the author researches high frequency system of the folded waveguide and rectangular slow-wave structure. Then, using MAFIA study the high-frequency system of the two slow-wave structure and contrasting the theory result and simulative calculate result. So that it can use computer to design the slow-wave structure.According to studying the high-system of the folded waveguide slow-wave structure, then study the beam-wave interaction of the FWG-TWT.Finally study the coupling structure of the sheet beam TWT. It can provide some reference for the fabrication of sheet beam TWT.
