Millimeter-wave Traveling Wave Tube (TWT), working in the frequency rangebetween the microwave and infrared, has advatanges of wide absolute-band, narrowwave-paket, ability of all-weather working and large output power. It is widely used inradar, communications, remote sensing, electronic countermeasures and plasmadiagnostics. Therefore, it has importantly realistic significance for the study on the newtype mm-wave traveling-wave amplifiers. In this dissertation, based on the investigationof a F band folded-waveguide traveling-wave tube (FWTWT), we have madesimulation and experimental study on several new types of FWTWT. Some importantand valuable results which bring forth some new ideas are accomplished and listed asthe followings:1.Design a new structure Millimeter-wave Traveling Wave Tube slow-wavestructure: ridge-loaded structure,which can work in F band.By using HFSSsoftware,we have made simulation of the new structure’s High frequencycharacteristics.The main parameters of size is carried out to study the influence ofridge-loaded on the properties of SWS.The study shows that the new Foldedwaveguide and its modified structures have better interaction impedance than theconventional structure.meanwhile,it can reduce Normalized phase velocity efficiently..2. Design a new structure Millimeter-wave Traveling Wave Tube slow-wavestructure: groove-loaded structure,which can work in F band.By using HFSSsoftware,we have made simulation of the new structure’s High frequencycharacteristics.The main parameters of size is carried out to study the influence ofgroove-loaded on the properties of SWS.The study shows that the new Foldedwaveguide and its modified structures have better interaction impedance than theconventional structure.meanwhile,it can reduce Normalized phase velocity efficiently.3.Design a new attenuator,which if suitable for working in F band.,have simulatedthe Reflection coefficient of this attenuator with CST software,obtained the requireddesign.
