Beginning with an example, this paper expresses a puzzle on "flexibility" in current control system of the tobacco primary processing line, so the necessity and urgency of requirement for control system of "platform and component" in the tobacco primary processing line is introduced. Then having centered on application analysis of field bus in control system and discussed the requirement of Chinese style cigarette to tobacco primary production, the development trend of automatic control system in tobacco primary processing line is deduced, that is, to comply with the trend of field bus merging with general Ethernet, make own control components using PROFINET CBA (component based automation) on PROFINET technical platform, and build a flexible control system of tobacco primary processing line by the help of OPC and other technologies.If a component based flexible control system of tobacco primary processing line is developed, one of important methods is to realize flexible process control system by taking use of current component technology and considering the characteristic of process control. Using component technology is a method, not a goal, but full understand to current component technology must be ensured if an effect use is hoped. Current component technology have three typical models which is a theoretical base of this paper, and these main models are analyzed and compared in this paper basing on the requirement of flexible control system of tobacco primary processing line. The conclusion is that DCOM model of microsoft is relatively suitable for flexible control system of tobacco primary processing line. In fact, selecting PROFINET and OPC also make the selection of DCOM is necessary.The focal point of this paper is chapter, that is overall design, which describes overall design thought on component based flexible control system of tobacco primary processing line, shows structure chart, structural decomposition model of equipment control level, control component definition and concept model, control component example view, control component encapsulation principle view, and resolve the problem of the example at the beginning of this paper, as a result, the base of following plan and design for hardware and software are built. At last, a method formanaging internal change of production line model and expressing MES is introduced.As the key of executing overall design is to find an appropriate environment for development and run according to system overall design, so with too much content, this paper discusses the relationship between PROFINET and OPC technologies and control system of flexible tobacco primary processing line. The conclusion is as follows: strictly speaking, PROFINET is just a standard for industrial Ethernet based automation bus, but as a technology, PROFINET supplies a solution for complete and advanced industrial communication. In this technology, those about ensuring real-time communication and those about CBA are just the most needed ones for flexible control system of tobacco primary processing line. In a word, PROFINET is the most suitable developing and running environment for current flexible control system of tobacco primary processing line. In a bigger scope, OPC technology supplies a universal and general "device I/O drive service" in a higher level, which is just needed by flexible control system of tobacco primary processing line. This point is demonstrated in this paper by an example of OPC technology renovation in a cigarette factory.After analysis hereinbefore, this paper describes the plan and design of system hardware and software, and ends with an example — key portion of a control system of tobacco primary processing line in a cigarette factory. The important point in this part is supplying not only a division for mechanotronics unit as control component prototype but also a method to realize control component.The biggest innovated point in this paper is the self-defined concept model of control component. Based on this model, on one hand, the component developer can abstract different objects from problems that are in line with objectivity, and solve problems in a object-oriented way so that closeness, succession and polymorphism of object can be kept, which is just the desired purpose for the component developer because the mechanotronics unit of control component is changeable but not completely changeable, and it is the most advantageous for realization and development of mechanotronics unit to keep object-oriented succession and polymorphism in a close scope; on the other hand, the component user (system builder) only hopes to see what he needs, but succession and polymorphism are justwhat he doesn't need, and the model meets two requirements at one time.
