Along with the fast development of information technology, CALS(Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support), which originated in US Dept. of Defense, has been more and more valued by many countries' governments and industry segments. IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) technology, as the main implement of CALS, provide an integrated data exchange and information sharing environment and has indeed improved efficiency and automation of manufacturing process greatly.However, with the products become more and more complex, the integrated information also causes another problem -it is difficult for users to retrieve the most wanted data information accurately and rapidly in it. For the purpose to improve the retrieve efficiency in IETM, this paper first analyzes the feature of data in IETM, then introduces the personalized retrieval technology and intelligent agent technology into IETM. And, in the end, it puts forward a personalized information retrieval system logical model for IETM, and systematically studies its implementation procedure.The aim of personalized information retrieval system is to provide personalized information for different users. The key techniques of it are data organization and user interests modeling, so in this paper:Firstly, the organization technology of the dada resource in IETM has been researched. In this segment, after the characteristics of data information in IETM are discussed, we choose S1000D specification for technical publications as the data organization standardization, and put forward a semantic information organization model based on ontology technology. It is designed to improve the semantic representation and interaction of data in IETM.Next, an user interests model based on the semantic information is promoted and the definition and operating procedure of it are discussed. In this segment, it stresses the ontological interests representation in the model and the dynamic adjusting procedure of weight index of the user interests, ulteriorly describes the whole procedure that how user interests model works.
