Agent-based Personalized Information Retrieval System

With the rapid development of Internet, People can get the required information more easily. At the same time, many problems had come out so that we can't catch the exact information about some subjectInternet has an open> dynamic and difference structure and their resources are distributing in every comer in our world. They havn't united mangement So we sometimes get too much related information and sometimes get little when we search them.Nowdays, we have many Internet search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, WebCrawler. These tools can help people to search Internet for their requirement But they have many lacknesses, such as they cant understand the exact meaning.Faced on the current situation of network information service, people are searching for a kind of service model that the required information for users is recommended to them actively. That is the personalized active information service. The intelligent Agent technology plays an important part in carrying on the personalized active information service.The paper has systematically studied the key technology dealing with the Agent-based personalized active information service and puts forward an Internet information retrieval system model for the multi-agent The system consists of three parts, which are User Agent, Information Search Agent and Information Filtering Agent.Firstly, the basic aspect of personalized information retrieval (status in quo,working theory) and the related technology are discussed. After the characteristics of personalized information retrieval are discussed, a framework of personalizing information retrieval system is presented.Next, we research the three models separately. The User Agent is the key research in this paper. We should form and train the User Agent through the expression of information requirement and information feedback by the user.A three-dimension interest model has been put forward. A creating and a modifying algorithm of user's interests based on this model and a method of using creating tree of user's interests to analyze user's search quests are presented subsequently.Next, the information search Agent through its inquiry agent connects Internet search engines, not only realizes meta-search, but also makes self-search on the web, when the recalls couldn't meet the needs of the user. The search algorithm starts its searching from the recalls of inquiry agent to reduce the range of searching and increase the speed of searching. According to the user ready-made information resources, information filtering Agent analyses the user's favorite and adopts vector space method to carry out the personalized information filter.Finally, in conclusion, the paper gives a brief discussion and summary on the future research way of the personalizing information retrieval.
