As a result of the incessant development of computer technologies and the wide spread of Internet. Multi-Agent technique is raising more attentions today. It soon grew out of the realm of Distributed Artificial Intelligence and applied to many fields such as Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interface and Personal Assistance. Compared to object, agent is an entity that has greater granularity, more intelligence and some autonomy, it uses a common communication language, which has a semantic independent to individual agents.Under the support of National 863 High-tech program, we implement a prototype system of Agent Oriented Software Developing Environment (AOSDE). The researches work in this thesis focus on agent architecture and construction, inter-agent communication and multi-agent planning. The following items are the details:1. Introduce Distributed Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Agent System; discuss the concept of agent; introduce the agent libraryofAOSDE.2. Discuss current trends of the research on several important directions of agent technique, including agent theory, agent architecture, agent language, agent communication language and multi-agent planning.3. We divide the agents in AOSDE into two kinds, one is usual agent, and one is facilitator. The latter is a specialized agent; its main task is to provide supports and services on agent communication. Both kinds of agents have a common base class — BaseAgent. The architecture of usual agents combines the features of deliberate agents and reactive agents, which make it hybrid architecture. The architecture provides supports to the construction and planning of the system. Among the components...
