In 1990s, The research of Agent is flourishing which concerns manyfields such as artificial intelligence, software engineering, parallel anddistributed computing, internet and intranet, virtual reality and so on. Theagent-oriented computing is regarded as another breakthrough of softwaredevelopment and a new innovation of software field. Some experts predictthat agent-oriented computing will be the most important computing patternin the next ten years.Usually agent is a body constantly and consciously running at a certainenvironment, which has two characters ?consciousness ability andcooperation ability. Through consciousness ability it can make a decision ofits behavior according to the situation. While collaboration ability can supplythe shortage of its intelligence and knowledge and improve synthesis abilityof solving complex problems. As the deep study on agent theory andtechnology, and the development of the parallel computing and processingtechnology, multi-agent system becomes the focus of present researches. InMAS communication and collaboration among agents are the importantproblems that must be solved first. In this paper, we point out a view of usingagent router to make agents communicate with each other, and discuss theproblem of choosing cooperators according to their self-confidence. At thebasis of these, we design an aim-based model of agent cooperation, andexplore the agent social behavior.The CRP (Capacity requirements planning) is one part of ERP system,which plays an important feedback role in ERP. The research and implementof CRP so simple that it needed greatly improving in mostly ERP products.The adjustment between capacity and load is a dynamic and recessiveproblem, which is too difficult to process completely by traditional method.But agent technology is suited to apply in that situation because it hasdynamic ability, consciousness ability and social ability. So we apply agenttechnology to the adjustment subsystem of CRP. Agents distributed ondifferent sites dynamically inspect and adjust the situation of the key workcenters. They communicate and collaborate with each other in time in orderto adjust the capacity and load when situation needed.In this paper, chapter one is a general introduction to the mostly outcomeof agent research fields and the problem we are going to settle. Chapter twoAgent-~I~studies on agents' communication and cooperative behavior, proposes ascheme to solve communication problem using an agent router, and gives acooperator decision method by agents' self-confidence and a cooperativemode. Chapter three first introduces some terms to describe agent fromsoftware methodology view. Then gives the formal definition of agents usingZ language. Chapter four detailed studies the capability adjustment strategyapplying on the adjustment subsystem of CRP, and proposes to use agenttechnology to realize automatic adjustment and aided decision according tothe characters of adjustment process. Chapter five introduces the key datastructure and technology when implement the system.
