Qos And Classification-based Web Service Discovery Mechanism

Web Service is a new distributed computing model. Meanwhile, as an application of self-contain, self-description and modularization, it can be described, published, discovered and invoked automatically through the web. The research area of web services include: web service automatic discovery, web service composition, web service security etc. The work of this paper focuses on the discovery technique. Web service discovery is a key technique in the location and discovery of web services. It provides basic support for upper application of Web services such as web service composition and work flow. Specifically, it quickens the process of complex composite application, and boosts the speed, efficiency and quality of system design and development of large business systems.Our work includes: a short introduction of the basic theory of web services. We have a review of discovery techniques that have been currently discussed. We proposed several newly designed methods in web service discovery, which includes: structural service discovery based on service category, QoS based service discovery, discovery based on service reference degree and user evaluation. Service category method takes advantage of the document classification used in the digital library. It computes the structural similarity between two web services considering the distance between two web services in the category. QoS of web services is computed for discovery. We build the data model and the computation model, give the computation formulas. The QoS computation method makes good use of explicit QoS information provided by service provider. This paper simplifies the computation of QoS of every published Web Services, and takes into consideration of the criterion of QoS that are not understood conformably by different service providers and requestors.
