Laser particle size measuring technique is an important research topic in laser research areas, and it has been widely used in industry, chemical industry, medicine and other fields. This technique developed greatly in recent two decades. The particle size measuring devices based on this technique also came into being. Traditional laser particle sizing device based on Fraunhofer diffraction theory which is widely used for simple calculations, but its application is limited for the smaller measurement scope.Mie theory is another classic light scattering theory, its most attractable feature is that it can be used for any size of the particle measurements, but its complex calculations limited its application. With the development of computer technology and calculation algorithm theory in recent years, this theory is used in particle sizing.Firstly this paper introduced the theory of Mie scattering and the method how to solve this problem. Then it analyzed the ill equation E = TW. Taking all the advantages and disadvantages of the conventional algorithms into consideration, this paper used Least Mean Square(LMS) to solve this problem. Its slowly calculation is the most significant shortcoming, the improvement through rational choice computation formula parameters will be changed to reduce the number of iterative, thereby greatly increasing the operating speed of the algorithm.Aimed at low level automation shortcomings, we developed a new type of fully automatic laser granularity device , through reasonable design the spaces machine hardware circuits .Through algorithms and systems software and hardware design, our production extended the measuring range and to achieve the system's automation control on the basis of the realization of the basic system...
