The relationship between the jurisdiction and the media is an important and sensitive problem in the socialistic legal system. One of the symbols of justness is the fact that the jurisdiction is open to media and accepts the supervision of media. But media supervision is two-edged, which not only can promote the jurisdiction justness but also damage the independence of jurisdiction. It is urgent to keep balance between them. As far as China, a country ruled by law under construction, both legal and media's professionalism are still remains at a very low level. Therefore, when we study the relationship between the media and the jurisdiction, we have to take a compromising position -the judicial system must allow a certain level of involvement of press. But we cannot allow the press to intervene in the handling of judicial matters. Under these conditions, the press may report and comment on court trials. The press has the obligation to respect the independence of our judicial system. The article will discuss the relations mentioned above, analyze the intrinsic reasons of the conflict between media supervision and judiciary in China and point out that they are not contrary in nature and we should now pay more attention to supervision of mass media. We should embody the media supervision and the value of judiciary justness in the perfection of the positive relationship between the media press and the judiciary mechanism.
