Media In Promoting Social Harmony In The Development Of Role

A harmonious society features positive interaction between people of different stratus, a just system, and steady and healthy development. However, unsound regulations and policies throw underprivileged groups to the bottom, denying them the deserved justice and equal rights and therefore making them a latent threat to the harmonious development of the society.As a witness of the society, media, with its utmost performance, will contribute constructively to the promotion of the status of the underprivileged groups and the creation of a harmonious society where different groups will coexist in peaceful way.As the problem of underprivileged groups comes to light, media has devoted great enthusiasm to them, albeit with varying performance. In fact, interference from the privileged class, coupled with the pursuit of interests has made the media a double-edged blade, healing yet problematic.Through helpful education, the media has communicated their sympathy and done some justice to the underprivileged groups, which will promote the amalgamation of the underprivileged groups and other groups, ease the tensions and contradictions and lead to a harmonious society.This study primarily centers on the concerns of the media about the underprivileged groups, and on the basis of the social functions of the media, to make analyses of its role in promoting the harmonious development of the society, and the problems of the concerns of the media on the underprivileged groups, thereby explores the means and requirements by reporting about those underprivileged groups to strengthen harmony in the development of the society.
