The Use Of Buzzwords In The News Language And Norms

AS a portion of language system , catchwords(catchphrases) in journalistic language are widely used on social language arena . They are carrying both the language and culture identities. For the great demonstrating and leading action, they are given more and more concern nowadays. This paper will start with the definition of catchwords (catchphrases) in journalistic language; analyze their forms, philological features, social cultural and journalistic backgrounds, and the problem in the use of them. The paper will put some views forward about the standardization of catchwords/catchphrases in journalistic language. Meanwhile, it will confirm the rich meaning in terms of linguistic and social cultural values.
