Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development in the technologies, digital video plays a more and areas of communication and more important role in information society. The advancements of computer technology, communication technology, microelectronics technology, network technology makes real-time video compression and transportation possible. Consequently, people enjoy the convenience made by technology advances. The video monitoring system technique has became one of people's study hot, has vast of applied foreground and research value. The key technology of digital video surveillance systems is compression of digital video data. The principle of MPEG-4 is object-based encoding, and its core is content-based scalability. It has become one of the important and influencing standards of present mufti-media data compression encoding algorithm. At present, compared with traditional mufti-media surveillance system, the burgeoning MPEG-4 surveillance system based on embedding techniques has many advantages such as small volume, with no user's operation, low cost, high stability, good real-time properties as well as convenient storage and transmission, thus it has favorable application and developing prospect. So it plays an important practical role to study and design an embedded digital network video surveillance system based on MPEG-4.In this dissertation, an Embedded Video Monitoring System Based on Network is studied deeply, and then implemented the hardware device drivers to the chip of the VWeb company's VW2010. The design is based on the MPEG-4 technology and embedded Linux. The first three chapters of the thesis are to study the video surveillance system's current background, main hardware structure and the main functions of software molds. Chapter 4 discusses the device driver of VW2010 under Linux. A few key techniques in the OSD interface design are discussed in chapter 5. Chapter 6 emphasizes a research of how to control many kinds of pans and lans based on embedded Linux.
