Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a kind of high resolution imaging radar. Using SAR, high-resolution radar images are obtained under all weather, day and night and long distance conditions. So it is of high value in military and civil applications. Currently, to obtain high resolution airborne SAR image is one of the most important directions of SAR.As a new embranchment of the SAR, Missile-borne SAR is taken much into account and researched more and more. This dissertation mainly studies the realization of hardware and software of side looking stripmap missile-borne SAR. Based on the characteristic of Missile-borne signal processing combining the technology of DSP and parallel processing, a hardware using three high performance DSP chips named TS203 and a FPGA is designed. Also the corresponding DSP code for the real-time processing of Missile-borne SAR is realized and the system request is satisfied. The main content in this dissertation include:1. The basic principle and signal processing of SAR imaging are described. Single target and mult-target echo imaging are simulated using dechirp algorithm by software.2. Based on the requirement of image formation algorithm, a parallel processing board based on three ADSPTS203 chips is designed. All the DSPs share the external bus and Linkports are connected for communications between chips.3. The DSP code for the real-time processing of Missile-borne SAR is realized in the designed DSP board. Imaging pictures of simulative signal including single target and multi-target are gained by the system.
