| White balance is a very important character representing the quality of color TV. White balance's adjusting is necessary in the quality control of TV's manufacturing process. According to LCD's special view angle's characteristic, the original measurement & adjusting system designed for CRT TV is not applicable for LCD TV, meanwhile the current measurement & adjusting method for LCD TV white balance is very complex by adjusting manually, under the different display format of VGA, XVGA, XGA, SXGA, WUXGA etc, which signal input through the different channel of AV, VGA, YprPb, DVI or HDMI. Therefore, the current method on adjusting white balance is not only inefficiency, complicate, poor uniformity, singularity, but also many instrument in use. It is necessary to study an automatic measurement & adjusting white balance system for LCD TV.The paper introduces advantage and disadvantage of old-designed white balance measurement & adjusting method. The research focuses on the design of an automatic measurement & adjusting system by use of color analyzer board (Minolta color analyzer CA-210), which will be used in white balance adjusting to LCD TV with I~2 C bus interface or RS232 serial port. The paper consists of seven chapters.The first chapter introduces the trend of TV market and the characteristic of LCD display, describe the disadvantages of the original white balance measurement & adjusting method. And the paper brings forward the research direction and its target.The second chapter clarifies luminosity and chroma measure keystone, measure methods and instruments working theory.The third chapter introduces the method of adjusting white balance of digital TV and the method of adjusting white balance of LCD TV under two kinds of chip-solution. Finally putting forward the framework of LCD TV white balance measurement & adjusting system.The forth chapter introduces signal generator, color analyzer board (colour analyzer CA-210), and I~2 C bus interface (RS232 serial port).The fifth chapter discuss the system software design.
