Portal Decision Support System In The Data Warehouse Design

As more and more information system were built in corportation, the manager want to get more useful information which can help them make a decision. So these manager are eager for decision support system. On the other hand,the Enterprise Information Portal is being built in many corportation. So a solution which integrate the two system together is given in the article, the solution is EIPDSS(Enterprise Information Portal Based Decision Support System).First, We start our research from the basic ideas and concepts of EIPDSS and give a formal definition for it. Based on this work, we present a new conceptual frame of EIPDSS based on Browser/EIP Server/Data Warehouse computing mode. The eipdss is the information center which intergrate the structured information and the structureless information from inside of corportation or ouside of corportation. The eipdss is built to give the different grade roles different decision information. The two ideas are the main difference between the eipdss and the traditional dss.Secondly, we explore and analyse the ideas and technic about the structure of eipdss. the main work of eipdss is to creat a data warehouse, then a solution is given to creat topic of Data Warehouse.The intergration of dss and eip expand the content of eip, give more useful decision information.Thirdly, eipdss give a solution of a complex problem when managers have to make a choice.Finally, we put the proposed framework and methods to xiahua corporation's eip system and explore the analyzing and designing process of EIPDSS, give a preliminary realization scheme.
