Based On Mapobjects Cable Television Network Resource Management System

The cable TV trade is carrying out the transition to digitization, and bearing the important responsibility of offering the information-based service to the society at present. The trade must pay great attention to the construction of informationization, enhance the management, and improve service abilities. There are cable TV network throughout the city. The network has the obvious geography characteristic. If we combine cable TV network with Geographical Information System (GIS) of the city, it will bring a leap to the operation and management of the cable TV network.Based on the depth investigation of the situation of Kunming cable TV network resources, the research on how to build a system to manage the network resources effectively is engaged, including distributed information, configuration information, application message and their logic relation information. Most of the network information system can be inputted, modified and queried in the system. The department of maintenance, design, engineering and marketing in the cable TV operator can get accurate equipment's graphics information and attribute information.We adopt MapObjects which Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) promoted as GIS partial development platform to design the system. We also design and implement the basic network resources management system. In practice, the network resource managements system has stronger adaptation ability. It can provide accurate and full statistics of the cable TV network and establish the foundation for the scientific optimizing decision.
