Secure Web Server

With the development of the Internet, the network security has become a focused topic. In China, with the development of Government Online Project and the E-Commerce, security problem has also become a focused topic within the country, especially the security of Web server which represent the image of the government and the Enterprise. This is why I choose the security of computer system, network and Web server as the subject of research and implement a secure web server.In the research area of computer security, we must integrate the following features into the system in order to make it secure: confidentiality, integrity, and availability. A secure web server needs these features as well. In this paper, we present a three-level secure system to meet the target of a secure web server. The system includes: A Protection SystemA multi-level, multi-server and multi-software server protection strategy is utilized from the OS level to application level. A Detection SystemSince protection is not enough, a detection system is needed to build a real time monitor for the secure system. A Response System.After an intrusion is found, the response system can send alert to the administrator and refresh the system.The system has been implemented and put into practical use. The test result shows that it can improve the security degree of the Web Server and also the performance is satisfactory for practical use of the secure web server.
