Network Security And Intrusion Detection

Internet,which contains about 600,000 networks,has spread to more than 180 countries nowadays,with access to 22,000,000 computers supporting more than 600,000,000 subscribers for various networks and information services. Apart from the information transmitting by e-mail,news release and forum on the Internet,communication technologies including Internet phone,Internet fax,video technologies are developing and refining continuously. In the information societies,network information systems will play more and more important roles in politics,military affairs,finance,business,transportation,telecommunication,culture and education. However issues on security also emerge with the reliance of society on network grows.Based on ISO network security system ISO7498-2,the concept of network security and service is introduced in this article first and a new technology -intrusion detection is discussed when listing the main network security technologies. Intrusion detection is mainly discussed from its concepts,classification,mode and the primary problems and changes it is facing,as well as the existing defects of network intrusion detect system for which solutions should be found. When the author gives his own solutions,a kind of practical intrusion detection system is proposed with the introduction of its implementation and the exception of its future development.
