In order to restoring a full-color images from incomplete color samples acquired by single-sensor digital cameras, an interpolation process , commonly referred to as CFA demosaicing , is required to estimate the other two missing color values at each pixel. There are two main demosaicing artifacts in demosaiced images, zipper effects and false colors. By combining and extending adaptive interpolation method, we proposed a new hybrid demosaicing approach. Firstly, we interpolate the G plane with adaptive method. Then, R/B information is used to modify the median filter for G plane so that the interpolation of G plane can efficiently preserve edges. Finally, we use the complete interpolated G plane improve accuracy of the R/B plane interpolation. The experimental result illustrates that our algorithm is of high fidelity, and the edge of demosaicing image is clearer and smoother, compared with other interpolation algorithms.
