Embedded Videophone Software Systems Design And Implementation

With the development of the communication technique, people are not satisfied with the traditional sound and character transmission based on telephone, TV, fax and email. People need data, graphics, images, audio and video information to be showed as a whole. The videophone, which combinewiths the computer's alternation, the communication's distribution, and the multimedia's real-time characteristic, is accepted by more information and timely responds.The research work of the videophone system includes the developments of the hardware and the software. The research and development of the software is made up of the requirement analysis, the system design, the code implementation and the code maintenance. The paper is a summary for this nearly one year's work about the research and development of the whole software system. The videophone software system is devided into two parts. One is the graphic frame and the other is the application module. The graphic frame is included by the graphic engine and the special drawing operation flow. After the comparison of so many graphic engines in the portable ability, the cost of the system resource and the stability, the system chooses Microwindows and FLNX as its graphic frame. Microwindows answers for the work of graphic engine. FLNX with the widget library brings the convenience in the implementation of the application module, and it works well in drawing with Microwindows. The choice of Microwindows and FLNX reduces the cost of product because Microwindows and FLNX are free in the Internet, and they can be customized by different requirements. But at the same time a fatal problem is coming that there is no enough reference information. So most of the time is spent in digesting the frame at the beginning of the project, and this is helpful for the frame's optimization and reducement.
