At present, the efficiency of domestic wide-band millimeter wave TWTs is far lower than the same kind of foreign ones, therefore to increase the efficiency of those kind of TWTs is the main subjective of this thesis. Meanwhile it’s obviously to achieve higher output power of TWTs with higher efficiency, when the power capacity of the slow wave structure of TWTs is kept constantly.First of all the key factors which influence the efficiency of millimeter wave TWTs have been analyzed. Second the practical technology of increasing TWTs’efficiency has been studied. The main contents include:1. The technology of the diversified circuit helix which can markedly increase the electronic efficiency of slow-wave structure Beam Wave Interaction (DVT) has been studied.2. The technique of reducing high frequency circuits with gilding and copperizing film on the surface of helix has been studied.3. The technique of multi-depressed collectors which can obviously increase TWTs efficiency using two electrodes has been studied.At the end the sample TWTs have been made according to the result of designment. It indicates the electronic efficiency and collector efficiency of millimeter wave TWTs is increased distinctly. The overall efficiency of those kind of TWTs is enhanced from**to20%upwards.
