| Increasingly matured data warehouse technology has been attached great importance to by the enterprises and government units in China and abroad. Many units in our army are also paying much attention to the development of data warehouse technology, attempting to develop policy-making support system by making use of data warehouse technology. Military communication device management data warehouse system is based on the data provided by military communication device management system and the developing tools for business data warehouse, with a view of enhancing the online analytical processing capability of military communication device management system and raising the level of scientific policy making and management of all departments.According to the basic concept and theory of data warehouse, the present paper discusses on a few problems in the field of data warehouse in modeling, implementation, the analysis and integration of OLAP and especially on the management of metadata in data warehouse. However, the research of metadata in the whole field of information system is still at initial stages. The key issue is how to manage and make use of a great deal of data in different formats and with different information. For this reason, the management of metadata is of great importance to data warehouse system.Finally, this paper has pointed out several problems of the system and listed several aspects of research work for the future. |
