Activity-centric Collaboration Platform And Achieve

With the development of e-mail, instant message and desktop conferencesystem, Computer supported co-operative work (CSCW) has occupied an importantroles in the application of computer.Is this paper, we analyze the features of the current co-operative tools and theeffect of them in collaboration, and study the development and features of somespecific co-operative platform, such as Lotus, IM and Groove. On the basis of thestudy in the original, we analyze the process of co-operation from the view ofactivity and propose a new co-operative platform that centers on activity. In thispaper, we also realize a prototype of this co-operative platform.The co-operative platform that center on activity has the following features: 1)It takes the user as center. 2) It not only supports the co-operation in group, but alsosupports the management to user's document, contactors, and tools. 3) In the contextof activity, we can more effectively organize the information of the user, such asdocument, contactors and tools.For verify the rationality and feasibility, we construct a prototype of theco-operative platform that take the activity as center, the prototype system iscomposed by three part: The Information and Communication central server (ICCS). The ICCSprovides the foundation communication facility for the cooperationplatform, and provides the storage space for user-related information. The active space server. The activity space server provides the informationsharing space and the cooperation service support for the concrete activity. The client side. The client side manages the documents, contact list andtools, and synchronizing information with server.
