Bio-impedance is a parameter which represents the electrical quality of the whole human body or part of the human body(such as human apparatus, cell and etc.). We can know the biologic status and clinical status through Bio-impedance. But the Bio-impedance measurement system which we can find out is so expensive or has a big volume or does not have good precisions or makes developer spend so much time on developing them. So it can not be applied in clinic application.This article mainly describes the signal generation part and signal collection part. In the signal generation part, we choose ADuC847 micro controller which is produced by AD as core micro controller. And in the signal collection part, we choose AT91RM9200 micro controller which is produced by ATMEL and ADS1256 chip which is produced by TI as core chips. These high performance chips make the whole system accurately.The embedded Linux operating system which we select offers signal collection part a software platform. And we program the ADC device driver. The Linux operating system and the ADC device driver provide so much APIs. So they make the developers work easier than before. The system software makes the whole Bio-impedance measurement system be upgraded easily. We also program application software to manipulate the data which is read by ADS1256 and transfer the results to PC.In one word, the Bio-impedance measurement system in the article has low cost, high precision, low power dissipation and it is reliable, more precisely and can be transplanted in other environment easily.
