Analyzing the RCS of microstrip antennas plays an important role in the design of microstrip antennas. In this article, method of moment (MoM) in the spatial domains will be applied to analysis the scattering of microstrip arrays and the RCS of the arrays will be calculated, and the RCS of microstrip antennas will be reduced by using the patch losses and other ways. First, the spatial Green's function of microstrip structure is obtained through the discrete complex image method (DCIM) which is based on the generalized pencil-of-function (GPOF). In this method the extraction of quasi-dynamic images and surface waves is avoided and the efficiency of MoM will be improved. And the result can prove to be much faster by comparing with the result of integration. Then the method of moment based on the mixed potential integral equation (MPIE) is applied for the microstrip arrays to analysis its scattering. A new kind of hybrid local basis function based on mixed-style meshesis will be used in this method. It can also be used in the case of line antennas mounted on the metal carrier so that the attachment part can be simulated by good-behaved triangle attachment basis function and the other part of the carrier can be simulated by quadrangular/hybrid basis function in order to reduce the number of unknown. And its result is validated by comparing with the reference's results. At last the electric field integral equation (EFIE) is developed including dielectric and patch losses. And the formula of analyzing the RCS of microstrip antennas is studied, which is used to analyze and calculate the RCS reduction.
