It makes great sense to design an embedded microprocessor with self-copyright. The architecture of CISC microprocessor such as the x86 serials plays an important role in the embedded microprocessor field. One of the key problems in CISC microprocessor design is the microprogramming design, which makes great effort to the CISC microprocessor research and development.This paper is supported by the national project (ID: 41308010307) and the author joined Longtium C1 design team. In this paper, according to the research of the microinstruction design and developing platform of the CISC microprocessor, the microinstruction format is defined, the microprogramming controller is designed and the developing platform of microprogramming is constructed, which includes the microinstruction compiler and emulation model of microprocessor.Following are the main work in this paper:1. Design the microprogramming and developing platform for "Longtium" C1. "Longtium" S1, containing the SOC chip core "Longtium" C1, has been successfully implemented under 0.18μm CMOS technology. "Longtium" PC 104 motherboard in industrial control field based on "Longtium" S1 could run DOS and relevant applications.2. Systemically analyze the architecture of "Longtium" Cl microprocessor. The principle, characteristic of instruction system is discussed and its history is introduced. In addition, the microinstruction format of "Longtium" Cl microprocessor is defined and the microprogramming controller is designed.3. Present the design scheme of microprogramming developing platform. The microinstruction compiler and emulator are developed. Moreover, the relevant optimization and verification are conducted.4. The microprogramming developing platform is used in the developing of "Longtium" Cl. It enhanced the developing efficiency of microprogramming.The construction of microprogramming developing platform enhances the speed and efficiency of microprogramming development and verification.
