Abstract/Summary:
In order to describe the different three-dimensional things of the real world on the computer screen, we must use suitable mathematics model to describe the different 3D things according to the feature of the things. But the things in the real world have different shape, it is very difficult that all the different 3D things is model as suitable mathematics model, and that isn't meet the applied need. In fact, adding texture on geometry model of the 3D things is an good ways, if you want to simplify mathematics model and to show the 3D things with reality. The scholars in the GIS domain always add adding texture on geometry model of the 3D things in the study on the 3D terrain and the digital city.All the time, texture mapping techniques is used to add texture on the surfaces of the three-dimensional things. This paper mostly studies the two-step texture mapping techniques, and propose that the parameter curve that is easy to be control shape is used as intermediary curve. The parameter curve is more similar to the real surface of the 3D things so that we can reduce the deform in the course of texture mapping. We also use figure software OpenGL to realize the texture mapping example. Finally we analyzes the several ways of texture mapping anti-aliasing and amend summed area table techniques.Now the texture mapping techniques is efficient and high-quality, but deform and seam is not avoid. In the other situation, such as fictitious scene , texture is not easy to get. Some scholars think out another ways—texture synthesize techniques.texture synthesize techniques can grow arbitrary magnitude texture and avoid deform and seam. But texture synthesize quality and speed are always its defect. We studies several typical ways and generalize their algorithm ideas . On the basis of the study, we use parameter estimation theory of the statistics to automatically compute the magnitude of neighborhood. This ways avoid the error of man-made and improve the synthesize quality. This paper also transform match point search into most near point search in multi-dimensional spatial so that we can reduce the search range and increase the synthesize speed.Now texture mapping technique already used extensively in the GIS domain, but texture synthesize technique still can't attract the GIS author' attention. Without a doubt, texture synthesize technique must also have an extensive prospect in the GIS domain in the future.
